Awesome Definitive Technology BP-9020 in just $429.99 at Best Buy: Christmas Sale

The spacious sound of bipolar speakers is difficult to beat, especially when paired with a pair of Definitive Technology’s BP-9020 high-performance towers in the front of your room. To radiate sound in all directions, the BP-9020 employs a unique driver layout with both front- and rear-firing speaker arrays. It also includes a powered subwoofer built into the bottom of the cabinet for powerful bass.

Even in large rooms, every listener will experience a massive, three-dimensional soundstage when listening to music or watching movies. Furthermore, the sleek, modern design and cloth grille-wrapped enclosure of this speaker make it a welcome addition to almost any space.

To provide clear, focused imaging, direct sound from the front two midrange drivers and tweeter arrives at your ears first. This is followed by sound from the rear mid driver to increase space. The result is a lush, seamless soundstage that sounds more like how we hear sounds in real life. Your music and surround effects will sound clear and accurate thanks to Definitive’s Balanced Double Surround System (BDSS) drivers, allowing you to pinpoint the soloist in a band or the direction of a jaguar’s call in the jungle.

A built-in 150-watt amplifier powers an 8″ side-firing subwoofer at the speaker’s base. It produces deep, precise bass without the need for an external subwoofer. (When using a pair, the subwoofer will fire to the left on both speakers, resulting in well-balanced bass.) Because the cabinet contains a subwoofer, the bass output is already perfectly blended with the mids and highs. All you have to do is adjust the bass volume to suit your room and preferences, then relax and enjoy your music and movie soundtracks.

If you want to easily integrate Dolby Atmos surround sound into your home theatre, the BP-9020 is ready to go. Underneath the tower’s attractive, removable aluminium top plate is a built-in docking port designed specifically for Definitive’s optional A90 Atmos speaker module.

Simply remove the plate, plug in the A90 module, and you’re ready for an immersive home theatre experience. The hidden integrated connector port terminates at the base of the tower with a pair of binding post speaker terminals for connecting to the “Height” or “Top” outputs of your Dolby Atmos compatible receiver.
