The best Asus phones may not have a wide range of smartphone models, but they still offer some excellent choices. The company now focuses on two different product lines: the Zenfone series for mainstream users who want a small phone with top-notch hardware and the ROG Phone series for those who want bold designs, cutting-edge hardware, and extra features.
Since 2014, ASUS has been working hard to make the ZenFone line of phones better. They have put a lot of time and money into building the ZenFone brand. Today, we applaud the ninth generation of Zenfone, which is one of the best compact Android phones on the market. Even though we may not play games as much as we did when we were younger, we still secretly want the next ROG phone. Below we have mentioned the best Asus phones.
Best Asus Phones Comparison Table
The Zenfone series, the ROG Phone series, and the ZenFone Max series are all smartphone lines from Asus. The Zenfone series is the top line of phones from Asus. It has some of the most powerful and feature-packed phones on the market. The ROG Phone series is made for players and has high-end specs and features that are made for gaming. The ZenFone Max line is made for people who want a smartphone that will last a long time. It has big batteries and processors that use less power.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is what runs the Asus Zenfone 10, and at this point, the chip doesn’t do anything that surprises anyone. Qualcomm’s newest top-of-the-line chip is made using a 4nm process. It has a 1+2+2+3 CPU layout and supports UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM. The Zenfone 10 will come with different amounts of memory, from 8GB/128GB to 16GB/512GB, which is what our review units have. It’s important to note that Asus says the 128GB version also has UFS 4.0 storage. This is different from, say, the Galaxy S23, which uses UFS 3.1 for the 128GB base model.
As we’ve come to expect from Zenfones, the 10 has a few “system modes” that can be reached from the battery settings or the quick toggles in the notification shade. We did our tests in both the Dynamic mode, which is the usual, and the High performance mode. In GeekBench and Antutu, the scores were very different, but in GFXBench and 3DMark, they were almost the same.
Pros
- Great performance in a small formfactor
- High refresh rate screen perfect for gaming and apps
- Freedom to customize close to stock
- Headphone jack
Cons
- Pinhole camera in screen
- Lopsided bezels with aggressively rounded corners
- Staggered launch with no US release date
- No carrier support

The Zenfone 9 is the best small phones you can buy right now. The phone is made to be used with one hand, but ASUS still managed to fit a 4,300mAh battery that lasts for well over a day. The phone’s best feature is its bright 5.9-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The Zenfone 9 is a great choice because it has clean software and a good price. It is one of the best Asus phones you can buy right now.
By going the compact way with the ZenFone 8, Asus completely changed its design and overall philosophy. Now, with the ZenFone 9, this idea has been perfected in every way. The phone is a little bit smaller, has the best Qualcomm chip available right now, and has an amazing battery life for such a small device.
Pros
- High-resolution front camera for stunning selfies
- 5G connectivity for faster internet speeds
Cons
- Limited availability of certain storage variants in some markets

The Asus Zenfone 8 is still a good choice if you want to save money. It runs on the Snapdragon 888 and is easy to use with one hand. You also get a high-quality screen that updates at 120Hz, clean software, and a battery that lasts all day. In the past few years, some very interesting design decisions have come out of the never-ending search for the best screen-to-body ratio. Asus thought of the flip camera for the ZenFone 6 and made it better over the next two versions.
It’s a different method that has some problems, but it gets the job done and looks really cool. The ZenFone 8 Flip continued where the 7 Pro left off, making small improvements to the flip device. The ZenFone 8 Flip doesn’t have a selfie camera, for those who don’t know what I’m talking about. Instead, the whole main camera section flips up, so you can use three high-quality lenses to take pictures of yourself.
Pros
- Impressive camera system with versatile lenses
- Ample storage options for all your needs
Cons
- Lack of expandable storage option
- Some users may find the ZenUI interface overwhelming at first

Get the “Ultimate” model from the ROG line if you want the best of the best. And here it is: the Lucky 7, the new version of the ROG Phone Ultimate. This phone won’t stutter or slow down, even when doing hard tasks. This is about more than just games. Anything that needs a lot of real power is what we’re talking about. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU inside is the fastest one Qualcomm makes, and its speed is great because of how well it cools.
The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate has a lot of other cool features, like gaming-friendly touch buttons, a great AMOLED display with a super-fast update rate of 165Hz, one of the best phone speakers ever, and a unique design. Even though this phone might not be for everyone, especially because of how it looks, it can be fun to show off to your Galaxy and iPhone friends. Overall, it is one of the best phones that Asus sells.
Pros
- Powerful processor for smooth gaming performance
- High RAM capacity ensures multitasking without lag
- Generous storage space for games and media files
Cons
- The large size and weight may not be suitable for users seeking a compact phone

How well it works is the biggest change from the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro. But the fact that the 6 Pro worked well was the only thing that could not be questioned. In the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, Asus replaced the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+. This is another high-end 4nm chip that works about the same as the last one.
In fact, the average Geekbench 5 single-core score of 1382 and the average Geekbench 5 multi-core score of 4635 are both higher than those of the 6 Pro, which suggests that the MediaTek CPU is, if anything, a little faster. For GPUs, my tests seem to show a change in the opposite direction. The 6D Ultimate got perfect scores on all of the key 3D Mark tests, just like the 6 Pro, but it only got a 2663 on the hard Wild Life Extreme test. This is 146 dollars less than the 6 Pro.
Pros
- Extremely powerful
- Fantastically large and fluid display
- Useful gaming buttons
Cons
- Barely any different to the ROG Phone 6 Pro
- More expensive than before
- Somewhat cumbersome

- Exceptional performance with a high-end processor and ample RAM
- Massive storage capacity for storing games, apps, and multimedia

FAQs
Yes, Asus makes good phones. They have good functions and work well, and the price is reasonable. Both smartphones and computers made by this brand have a good name.
The 12 GB RAM on the Asus ROG Phone 6 is better for playing games than the 6 GB RAM on the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max. The Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max only has 128 GB of internal memory, while the Asus ROG Phone 6 has 256 GB.
Over time, the pictures on Asus phones have become a lot better. Many of the newer models have more advanced camera systems with multiple lenses, new imaging technologies, and software updates that make it easier to take better pictures.
