The Lenovo Legion Tower 5i, which is in its fifth generation, is a good gaming PC that doesn’t cost too much. It’s not as powerful as the best gaming PCs, but its 11th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Intel UHD Graphics 730, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, and 16GB of RAM are more than enough to run today’s most popular games at low to medium settings.
It also comes with a 512GB SSD and a 1TB HDD, so you’ll have plenty of space for your games and any updates they need. Windows 11 Home is already installed, so you can start using the computer as soon as you connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse. When you buy a Lenovo Legion Tower 5i, you also get three months of Xbox Game Pass for free. This gives you access to a huge library of games.
Lenovo Legion Tower 5i Gen 6 with RTX 3060
This system has almost the same tower and setup as the one above, but the graphics card has been upgraded to give it a little more power. The only thing to keep in mind is that it will run almost any game you throw at it on high settings, and maybe even a few on ultra. It also has a solid-state drive (1 TB) and a standard SATA hard drive (1 TB, 7200 RPM) of the same size. Wi-Fi 6 22 and Bluetooth 5.1 are great ways to connect wirelessly. Like the other Lenovo systems, this one comes with three months of Xbox Game Pass and lets you play some great games right away.
Alienware Aurora R15
The biggest changes to the Alienware Aurora R15 are all about cooling. Dell, which makes Alienware, has changed from a 120 mm cooler to a 240 mm radiator. This should help the CPU run much faster. There is also more airflow on the side, and we found that all of these changes made the PC quieter.
With an Intel Core i9-13900KF and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, it’s not much of a surprise that the Aurora blew through our benchmarks for gaming and productivity. On the one hand, we really like how many ports are on the front of the Aurora. There are three USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Alienware does this by using a proprietary motherboard, which makes it hard to fully upgrade the system in the future.
Corsair One i300
The Corsair One i300 is kind of like a game console in some ways. It doesn’t take up much space on a desk, with a base that measures 6.93 x 7.87 inches and a height that is just a bit higher than an Xbox Series X. But inside that metal case are high-end parts like an Intel Core i9-12900K processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD.
It takes air in through the sides and lets it out through the top, and it’s not very loud. But the small size is also what makes it hard to upgrade. Yes, it’s possible, but you don’t have much space to work with, and you can’t take the sides off because the radiators are attached to them.
To get this top-notch, small system, you’ll have to pay a lot of money, though. We tested it at a price that broke our wallets: $4,999. The other configuration, which uses Intel’s 12th Generation CPUs, starts at $3,649.99. If that’s too much money (and it is! ), you might want to look at some of the less expensive options on this list.
Lenovo Legion Tower 7i (Gen 8)
The Lenovo Legion Tower 7i isn’t the most flashy pre-built gaming PC, but it can be upgraded in the future because its parts are all the same. We like the board’s four M.2 slots, which let us store a lot of data (though one is used by the Wi-Fi card). There are four USB Type-A ports on the front, which is a good number for a gaming desktop.
This means you won’t have to reach behind the system to plug in accessories or external storage. The Intel Core i9-13900KF and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 worked well together for gaming in all of our tests. Those should also make for a powerful workhorse, though our system wasn’t running at the advertised RAM speeds. Even though the system has DDR5-5600 RAM, the sticks ran at 4,400 MHz, which may make a difference, especially in productivity apps.
MSI Infinite RS 13th
If you want the best of the best, you can get it with the MSI Infinite RS 13th, as long as you’re willing to pay for it. With a 13th-generation Intel Core i9 processor and a liquid-cooled Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, this system has great performance, is quiet, and can be upgraded in the future.
The MSI Prospect 700RL case has room for all of the standard parts. Some people might even find it too big. But it has enough room for the two radiators and nine fans that made this system so quiet when we tested it.
You get a keyboard and mouse, but you’ll probably want to get something nicer. During our tests, the Infinite did some very impressive things. If you care about smooth gameplay and being able to upgrade your prebuilt and are willing to give up some space on or under your desk, this is a good option.
