North 24 Kaatham

Rating: 4.2/5

North 24 Kaatham tells the story of a journey that covers 24 kaathams, where one kaatham equals 16 km. The story here revolves around the character Harikrishnan who works in a multinational company. On one particular occasion, Harikrishnan is asked by the company to come to Trivandrum to give a presentation on the software he developed.

On this trip, Harikrishnan meets an old man and a girl. Circumstances force him to stay with them. Since there is a harthal in the entire state on that particular day, these characters find themselves in a difficult situation. The film chronicles the eventful journey of these characters towards their destinations, which greatly influences Harikrishnan.

On screen, Fahadh Faasil appears as a variety character and he has done so with absolute conviction. He also handled the character’s transformation towards the end very elegantly. Swati Reddy also did a very good job with her unglamorous look of her as Narayani. Nedumudi Venu also deserves a round of applause for playing that communist character. Anil Radhakrishnan Menon’s direction is really attractive. Overall, the movie buff in me was very happy after seeing North 24 Kaatham.
