Brother MFC-L2750DW XL review

The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL All-in-One is fast and offers convenient features like a fast ADF, fast two-sided printing and copying, fax and a second paper tray.

The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL is one of the company’s first “XL” laser printers, which simply means the printer comes with a bunch of extra toner in the box. This results in a higher price tag than we’re used to seeing on entry-to-midrange monochrome laser multifunction (AIO) printers, but it’s fast enough and prints well, making it a worthy choice for home and home use. A monochrome laser monoblock for small offices and workgroups or perhaps even individuals with optical print and copy workloads.

The downside here is that, unlike Brother’s INK vestment inkjet counterparts, which not only come with extra ink but also carry very low running costs, the XL line simply provides the convenience of having extra toner at the time of purchase. In other words, you won’t be ordering toner so soon, but when you do, you’ll be paying essentially the same somewhat high cost per page for it as if you were buying toner for several other entry-level Brother machines. Here you can read all the information about this printer in our Brother MFC-L2750DW XL review.

In other words, toner is cheaper for only the first few thousand pages, and depending on how you use the printer, the time between purchasing the printer and urgently purchasing toner may be longer, which is certainly convenient, but maybe not so much The MFC-L2750DW XL offers a high-speed automatic document feeder, duplex printing and copying, a color scanning, faxing, and integration with cloud applications such as OneNote.

Brother MFC-L2750DW XL review: Design

The 2.7-inch color touch screen doesn’t look elegant, but it’s effective. You can’t swipe like you would on a smartphone screen, but pressing the virtual up/down buttons on the menu screen will get you where you want to go pretty quickly. You lift the ADF 50 sheets from the top of the printer to expose the scanner plate. The cover is held in place at an angle of approximately 45 degrees, so you do not need to support it when loading a document to scan.

There is a flip-out latch where the pages enter the ADF to keep them from sliding off the device. The output tray under the scanner glass is a recessed cavity in the chassis with a hinged latch on the front. To make sending faxes easier, there is a 10-key keypad for entering fax numbers. The paper tray on the bottom of the machine can hold up to 250 sheets of paper. Above this drawer, behind a hinged lid, is a second input slot for special media; for example, it can handle up to 10 envelopes.

When you open the paper tray for the first time, a message appears on the screen asking if you want to change the paper size. If you answer “No,” the printer will ask you if you want to ask this question again; entering “No” will disable this notification. This is because you may not want this message to appear if you do not plan to change the paper size.

Brother MFC-L2750DW XL review: Features

Brother MFC-L2750DW XL All-In-One. This printer isn’t just your regular old printer; it does everything from copying and scanning to faxing and making copies of things like IDs or resumes! It even has built-in wireless so you don’t have to keep it connected to different computers all over the office! The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL is a large all-in-one printer with automatic document feeder and duplex printing.

A black and white inkjet printer can print 35 pages per minute, and a color printer can print 27 pages per minute. In addition, the Brother MFC-L2750DW XL has a 2.5″ LCD screen to preview your work before printing. If you need more than a home office printer, but still need the affordability of an inkjet, this is the device for you. You can print, scan, copy, fax, and send email with attachments from the Brother MFC-L2750DW XL.

Brother MFC-L2750DW XL review: Print and Scan Quality

The MFC-L2750DW printed text documents with dark and crisp lettering around the edges. The graphics also looked attractive, although they were a bit dark overall. As a result, they lost some detail in the shadow areas, but the mid tones retained subtle transitions. This was most noticeable in reproductions of faces in photographs: they looked attractive because the transitions gave them a three-dimensional look.

In contrast, the Canon MF217w printed the same documents lighter overall, with more shadow detail, but faces looked flat due to blurry mid tone transitions. Document scans looked sharp, with clear PDF reproductions of text forms. When scanned to JPEG at 600 dpi, photos looked attractive, with accurate colors and fine detail, even in shadowy areas.

Brother MFC-L2750DW XL review: Scanner

The Brother MFC-L2750DW has excellent scanning features. It is equipped with an automatic document feeder capable of duplex scanning in a single pass, which greatly saves time when processing long two-sided documents. Also, when you select “to OCR” when scanning from a printer, the default file type is TXT file. However, the TXT file contains no images or formatting. Instead, you can also select an HTML or RFT file. When scanning from a computer, you can select a searchable PDF from the options. If you’ve ever had to copy book chapters for a report, scan old family photos, or fax medical records to your doctor, then you know how frustrating it can be to not have a scanner handy.

While many printers come with a built-in scanner, not all are created equal. Some office printers are fully equipped with a flatbed scanner, automatic document feeder, automatic two-sided scanning, and a fax function. Family printers tend to be more limited, but they usually have a flatbed scanner and/or a sheet fed scanner. We test the various scanning capabilities of each printer we review so you can easily find one with scanning features to suit your needs.

Price and Availability

This printer will cost you around $450. But prices may vary depending on the country you live in or the retailer you buy it from. For this price, it is the best in its segment of printers. The downside is that, unlike Brother Investment’s inkjet counterparts, which not only come with extra ink but also require minimal ongoing running costs, the XL line is simply an option to purchase an extra toner cartridge with purchase.

This means that you are unlikely to buy a toner right away, however, if you do, it will cost about the same as you pay for toner for various other entry-level Brother models. The bottom line is that all you pay for the extra cost is toner, which is a bit cheaper for the initial few thousand pages. This is also the case, depending on your usage, there may be some time between buying a printer and the time you have to pay for extra toner.

Final Words

The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL All-In-One is fast and offers convenient features such as fast ADF, fast 2-sided printing and copying, fax and a second paper tray. The MFC-L2750DW XL delivered the fastest text and mixed text/graphic file speeds to date, and double-sided printing was faster than some single-sided models. It also delivers high image quality across the board.
