Deal on Logitech G413 SE: buy this mechanical gaming keyboard $64.21

The Logitech G413 SE is a mechanical gaming keyboard that can only be used with a cord. It’s a cheaper version of the Logitech G413, and there are some differences between it and the more expensive model. Notably, it doesn’t work with Logitech G Hub software, which means you can’t change it or add macros. Most gaming keyboards come with a choice of switch types, but this one only has Long Hua Brown switches.

Which have a short pre-travel but don’t feel as smooth to press as Cherry or Gateron switches. On the plus side, it feels very well-built and solid, and the PBT keycaps are nice to touch. It has great latency, so even FPS games that move quickly feel responsive. Also, the backlighting is only white, but it is bright and makes it easy to see the keys in dark rooms.

Features:

  • Simple design
  • Crisp, shine-through legends
  • Affordable price
  • Sturdy chassis
  • Good switches
  • PBT keycaps are a nice addition

The biggest problem with the Logitech G413 SE is that it has key switches made by Long Hua. I think that membrane switches are always worse than mechanical ones, no matter how simple they are. But as far as key switches go, Long Hua is about as simple as it gets. These hard-to-find switches are basically just off-brand Kailhs, and Kailhs aren’t the most fancy switches to begin with. This Long Hua switch feels and looks like a Cherry MX Brown.

It is brown and has a tactile feel. But that’s the only thing it has in common with better tactile switches like Cherry MX Browns or Logitech’s own Romer-Gs. The Long Hua switches feel stiff and uneasy, and it’s hard to tell how they work by touch. They can’t be turned on or off with a light touch, so in practice they don’t feel all that different from linear switches. On the other hand, they are much louder.

How to buy Logitech G413 SE?

The Logitech G413 SE is a good mechanical gaming keyboard that doesn’t cost too much. It’s well made and has a good chassis and metal top plate to make it last longer. Its Brown switches are responsive enough for gaming and typing, and they feel fine for general use, even if they aren’t always the same. Compared to what other boards offer, the 6-key rollover is a bit low, and the lack of software integration for any kind of customization is disappointing.
