The Logitech G413 SE is a corded mechanical keyboard designed for gaming. It is an inexpensive version of the Logitech G413 and has some obvious differences from its higher-quality counterpart. Most notably, it is not compatible with Logitech G Hub software, so you cannot customize it or program macros. Unlike most gaming keyboards that offer a choice of switch styles, this board comes only with Long Hua Brown switches, which have a relatively short preventive travel but do not feel as smooth to press as higher-quality switches such as Cherry or Gateron.
On the plus side, the board is very well built and solid, and its PBT keycaps are pleasant to touch. Latency is outstanding, so even high-speed FPS games are responsive. In addition, the white-only backlighting is bright and easily illuminates the keys in dark rooms. The Logitech G413 SE is an excellent keyboard for gaming. It is sturdy and well built, and its latency is outstanding, so it is responsive even when playing high-speed FPS games. The LED backlighting is bright and the keys are easily visible even in the dark. The PBT keycaps are pleasant to type on, and the Long Hua Brown switches on the board have a short pre-stroke distance and do not require too much force to overcome.
That said, the switches are not as smooth as those on the higher-value offerings, and it is not possible to choose another type of switch or easily replace them. Also, despite being a gaming keyboard, it is not compatible with the Logitech G HUB, so you cannot program macros or remap keys. The Logitech G413 SE is a full-size keyboard that takes up a fair amount of desk space because of the NumPad and separate navigation cluster. However, a TenKeyLess variant is available if you prefer a keyboard with a smaller desktop footprint.
The Logitech G413 SE has good ergonomics. It has a tilt setting to make typing more comfortable. Although the keyboard has a shorter profile than other mechanical gaming options, it is not short enough to be considered low-profile, which means it could benefit from a wrist rest. Unfortunately, it does not come with a wrist rest, but one can be purchased separately. The Logitech G413 SE uses a fixed rubber cable, which is long enough for most configurations. Unlike the previous Logitech G413, this cable has only one USB-A connector, as there is no USB passthrough functionality to connect external controllers or peripherals directly to the keyboard.
Logitech G413 SE offers some additional features. It has 6-key rollover, which means you can press up to six keys at once and the keyboard will register their presses correctly. There is also a Windows key lock that can be accessed by pressing the Fn key and the Windows key simultaneously. Media keys and backlight brightness settings can be accessed directly via hotkeys on the board. Unfortunately, because this board does not work with the Logitech G HUB, you cannot set macros on any keys.
