It would be unfair to say that the Wemax Go Advanced is somewhere in the middle of these two things. It’s a great projector for how small it is. In fact, the Go Advanced projector hits hard right out of its outer shipping box, giving off style and swagger from the moment you see it. A good first impression for a sleek, portable business projector that, let’s face it, isn’t exactly cheap.
Go Advanced has a clean, simple black exterior that is meant to make a good impression. A copper-and-gold-accented lens cover stands out against the black. It is both stylish and useful. It protects the lens and the autofocus/autokey stone camera, turns the device on and off, and adds an extra visual touch that takes Go Advanced out of the ordinary and gives it a “wow” factor. And, in fact, I said “wow” when I took it out of the box.

The USB Type-C port on the Go Advanced can only be used to charge the device. We are not sure if this is a good thing or not, since the projector can run long enough on battery to make an extra USB port useful, but it is joined by a full-sized HDMI port, a USB A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. If this seems a little sparse, don’t worry.
You won’t be connecting more than one device at a time, and the Go Advanced is smart enough to offer Bluetooth, WiFi, and streaming as well. An Amlogic T972-H is what runs the projector. This ARM Cortex A55 has 4 cores running at 1908MHz and a Mali G31. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which is pretty good.
It’s easy to store and play media files for a presentation, and it’s nice to have more space than the 8GB that most smart A/V devices have. Even though the OS may not be the most polished, it is always responsive. The GPU got a score of 451 on the 3D Mark “Sling Shot” test, which is about the same as the Anker Nebula Solar.
How to get WEMAX Go Advanced projector?
The front-facing auto-correction camera says it can handle resolutions of 1280720 and 640480. It’s hard to tell if the higher resolution (compared to the Anker Nebula Solar) is important for avoiding objects, but whatever it does, it does it well. This is joined by a time-of-flight sensor next to the lens. This sensor looks for objects, like your toddler’s face, and turns down the laser brightness or shows a warning to protect the eyes.
