Dell Precision 7560 review

The notebook has plenty of performance for professional users who need a lot of power. The Precision 7560 offers a quality mid- to high-end desktop experience that is suitable for a variety of complex computing tasks.

The newest in Dell’s line of portable workstation laptops, which are known for being incredibly powerful but pricy, is the Dell Precision 7560. With the Precision 7560 Workstation, the multifaceted line keeps emphasising complex visual design, architecture, and the like. For professionals that require a lot of horsepower, the laptop provides enough of power.

A quality mid-to-high end desktop experience that can handle a variety of complicated computing activities is provided by the Precision 7560. However, some people might scoff at the expensive entry price and the lower-than-average battery life.

The Dell Precision 7560 is a pricey piece of technology, regardless of the configuration you choose. For approximately $1,884 (£1,785.43), the laptop comes with a six-core Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and a 1080P screen. The least expensive model in Australia costs $4,079 and is equipped with an 8-core i7, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA T1200, two 512GB SSDs, and a 15.6-inch 1080p display.

The price of our review model, which has the specifications given to the right, is $4,866 ($4,932, AU $9,980). A Palmrest fingerprint reader, smart card reader, NFC reader, and an SSD quick access door for increased storage are all included in this kit. With ProSupport Plus and Onsite service, the warranty on all of this can be extended past the standard three years.

Dell Precision 7560 review: Design

The Precision 7560 feels like a tank and has a metal construction typical of high-end business laptops. It’s not a robust laptop, but it’s made for travel and can handle not being treated like a princess. The layout is expert without being overtly clinical. Its black palm rest contrasts wonderfully with its silver borders and lid.

The Precision 7560 has a width of 14.17 inches, a depth of 9.53 inches, and a height that ranges from 0.98 inches up front to 1.08 inches at the back. Compared to a standard consumer 15.6-inch laptop, it is fairly bulky, but because this is a powerful workstation, its size and initial weight of 5.42 pounds are acceptable. The ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 is 14.7 by 9.9 by 0.91.2 inches and starts at 6.32 pounds, while the ZBook Fury 15 G8 is 14.21 by 9.55 by 1.02 inches and starts at 5.18 pounds.

Dell Precision 7560 review: Display

The Dell Inspiron 7560 is a stylish, high-end laptop. The Full HD 1080P TrueIPS display with no bezels is fantastic. This laptop’s thin bezels truly enhance its elegance and appearance. The display itself, however, has a problem. Many people complained about colour bleeding problems with their 7560. After using it for only three months, I did not realise I had it until one day.

When the PC games is turned on and the screen is entirely black, colour bleed is visible. Only when the lights in the room are turned off or you are alone in the dark will you be able to see colour bleed. It is not recommended for those who enjoy designing or photo editing. This display provides accurate colour because of that.

Dell Precision 7560 review: Keyboard and touchpad

The keyboard of the Dell Precision 7550 is a good size, and the soft-touch texture makes it quite comfortable to type on. Even better for a work atmosphere, the keys are silent. On the 10fastfingers.com typing test, I was able to achieve a speed of 49 words per minute, which isn’t too much off my typical speed of 53 words per minute. The keys were quite simple to text on, and even the lightest touch was correctly recognised by the laptop. The rubbery quality of the palm rest gave my palm a safe place to rest.

The user can choose between no light, dim, and bright from the keyboard’s three different backlight settings. The dell keyboard light isn’t extremely bright to me because I prefer working in a darker environment. Although the 4.1 x 2.6-inch touchpad was quite smooth, it appeared to have trouble keeping up with my motion. The left, right, and centre click buttons are represented by buttons that are located beneath the touchpad. Personally, I find that having these extra buttons is unusual and that they take up a lot of room that may be used in another way.

Dell Precision 7560 review: Graphics Tests

Two DirectX 12 gaming simulations from UL’s 3DMark are used to test the graphics of Windows PCs: Night Raid (more subdued and appropriate for laptops with integrated graphics) and Time Spy (more demanding, suitable for gaming rigs with discrete GPUs). Additionally, we run two tests from the cross-platform GPU benchmark GFXBench 5, which puts a lot of strain on both high-level, game-like image rendering and low-level tasks like texturing.

The 1080p Car Chase and 1440p Aztec Ruins tests put graphics and compute shaders to the test using hardware tessellation and OpenGL, respectively. These tests are performed offscreen to support multiple display resolutions. The better, the higher the frames per second (fps).

The latest “Ampere” generation of mobile workstation GPUs from Nvidia, which has replaced the “Turing”-architecture crop that went under the Quadro name, features the RTX A4000, which is the second fastest (after the A5000). Though not intended for gaming, ISV software, and visualisation, it is clearly more than capable of playing a few games after work.

Dell Precision 7560 review: Battery Life

Now that Windows Better performance is enabled, the screen brightness is set to 120 nits, and all other programmes are closed other than the one we are using to test the notebook, we do the battery tests. The 95Wh battery pack in this laptop provides enough power for 11 hours and 51 minutes of video playback or 16 hours and 23 minutes of web browsing.

Dell Precision 7560 review: Price and availability

Trust me, I know that sounds like a lot for the Dell Precision 7550 I reviewed, but you can tweak it to make it less expensive. This particular laptop has a 16GB VRAM Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 GPU, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Class 50 SSD, and a 4K display. It also has an Intel Xeon W-10885M vPro processor. You can choose the standard model, which starts at $1,789 and includes a 1080p monitor, a 256GB M.2 NVMe Class 35 SSD, an Intel Core i5-10400H processor, 8GB of RAM, and Intel UHD Graphics cards.

Say you require far more from your laptop than what the entry-level model or even the model we evaluated has to offer. Three 2TB M.2 PCle NVMe Class 50 SSDs, an Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 GPU with 16GB of VRAM, an Intel Xeon W-10885M vPro processor, 128GB of RAM, and a 4K display with HDR400 support are all included for the absurd price of $10,802.55. Final Words

These are the problems and justifications for not purchasing a Dell 7560. However, I am still content with my purchase. The laptop weights 2kG, which is a little heavy but acceptable. It looks extremely great. The model is 15 inches. Apart from that I bought this machine for video editing, not for playing games, and it works nicely. Consider the freshly released Dell Inspiron 7567 with Nvidia 1050TI Card if you want a gaming laptop. It’s one of the top cheap gaming keyboard machines on the market.
