Fix Error 1067: ‘The Process Terminated Unexpectedly’ issue, which means “The process ended unexpectedly,” is one of the errors that can happen with Windows Services. Delete the Temporary Files
- Press Windows Logo key + E key.
- Go to C:\Users\username\
- Click view tab, check the checkbox Hidden items.
- Open AppData\Local\Temp
- Crtl + A key, then right-click the highlighted files, and select Delete.
- Click continue to confirm.
- Then, restart your PC and try to install the software.
Check for recent changes
- Determine if any recent changes were made to your system, such as installing or updating software, drivers, or system updates.
- If so, try uninstalling or rolling back the changes to see if that resolves the issue.
Repair the Problematic Service
- Launch the Run dialog (mentioned in method 1), input regedit and click Enter.
- After opening the Registry Editor window, head to the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Services.
- Find the service that has the error 1067 from the list (Here, we take the ACPI service as an example). Right-click on it, click Export to save it to the desktop or any place, name it ACPI and click Save. We do this process is to create a backup for the service.
- Then right-click on the service and choose Delete to remove it from the services list.
- Run Command Prompt with administrative rights, input sfc /scannow, and press Enter to perform a scan for your Windows system.
- Restart your computer. Then, find the backup of the registry key you have saved, right-click on it and choose Merge.
- Open the Services window via the Windows search bar, right-click on the service and click Start.
Reinstall the program
- Go to Control Panel.
- Then open Uninstall a Program.
- Right-click the application that gets “Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.”
- Select Uninstall.
- Restart the PC when finished.

- Then reinstall the application again.

- System resource limitations: Check to see if the system has enough CPU, memory, and other resources to run the service. Close any programs or processes that aren’t needed and may be using too many resources.
- Malware or viruses: Do a complete system scan to look for malware or viruses. Remove any threats that have been found and make sure the system is safe.
- Hardware problem: If none of the above solutions work, there could be a problem with the hardware. Check the hard drives or network adapters that are part of the service to see if there are any signs of a problem. If the hardware is broken, you might want to test it or replace it.
- Incorrect configuration of a service: Check to see if the service is set up right. Check that the service is using the right executable file and that the parameters for starting it up are correct. Make sure that any dependencies that you need are installed correctly.
