Sandygast and Palossand are making their Pokémon Go debuts this week during the Water Festival: Beach Week event. They were first teased in the Hidden Gems trailer, which had a beach trip theme. How to Get Sandygast and Palossand in Pokemon GO
- There are two ways to encounter Sandygast during the Water Festival event in Pokemon Go: 1-Star Raid Boss or event-exclusive Field Research tasks.
- The easiest way to get a Sandygast is to defeat one in a Raid Battle. It’s a 1-Star Raid Boss that can be defeated solo by targeting its weaknesses to Dark, Ghost, Grass, Ice, and Water-type attacks.
- If you prefer the Field Research route, look out for the task ‘Catch 25 Water-type Pokemon’. Spin PokeStops and delete unwanted Field Research tasks until you get this one.
- Once you have the ‘Catch 25 Water-type Pokemon’ task, it should be relatively easy to complete during the Water Festival event as there are loads of Water-type spawns.
- It might take some time to reach the target of catching 25 Water-type Pokemon.
- After the Water Festival: Beach Week event ends, Sandygast may become a rare spawn and you might not encounter it for a long time.
- Try your best to catch one while the event is still ongoing.

Is Shiny Sandygast available in Pokemon Go? The bad news is that Shiny Sandygast is currently unavailable in Pokemon Go. It’s rare for new Pokemon to debut alongside their Shiny variants, as they’re usually saved for future events to build up hype. This means you’ll just have to make do with regular Sandygast for now.
One of the most reliable ways to find particular Pokémon is by using the Nearby screen, which shows you what Pokémon you can find vicinity, either in the wild or at Gyms. Tap the bar at the bottom right corner of the Map View to see which Pokémon are near your current location.
