Through the settings app
- Press – Win + I.
- Click – System in the left pane of the Settings app.
- Go right, select Remote Desktop.
- Click the toggle to enable remote desktop.
- You will see a pop-up window: you and the users selected in User Accounts will be able to connect to this PC remotely. Click – Confirm.
- When you enable it, 2 options appear.
- Check the option – Require devices to use network level authentication to connect (recommended). You can see the remote desktop port number there. After enabling this option (NLA), you will need to authenticate incoming connections to ensure that there are no protection issues.
- Now click Search from the taskbar and type control. Press Enter to open the Control Panel.
- Click – Network and Sharing Center.
- In the next window, click – Change advanced sharing settings in the left pane.
- Check the radio box to Enable network discovery.
- Click – Save Changes.

- Press – Winkey.
- Type: advanced system settings.
- Hit Enter.
- In the System Properties window, click the Remote tab.

- And check: Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with network level authentication (recommended).

- Click Search on the taskbar.

- Press – Enter.

Allow remote connections in Firewall

- Type – Control.
- Hit Enter.
- Select – Window Defender Firewall.
- Click – “Allow an application or function through Window Defender Firewall” in the left pane of the next window.
- Now, click on – Change Settings.
- Under Allowed apps and features, in the Name column, look for Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance.
- Check the Private and Public boxes for both applications.
- Click – OK.
