The famous VSCO photo and video editor finally brings its DSCO camera, which allows you to create looping videos, similar to the boomerang. It is available with a new option within the camera, in the application itself. And only for those who subscribe to VSCO’s premium service.

VSCO started as an application to apply professional filters to photos, first on iOS and then on Android. The application was transforming into a social photography application, exchanging the purchase of the different filter packs for a subscription. And it also allowed to edit the video; with its own options, such as DSCO, a small video that plays in a loop. Exclusive to iOS, said DSCO is now on Android.

How to convert a video into DSCO

  • Touch the “Study” icon. It’s the icon in the middle of the bottom menu.
  • Now tap on the “Camera” icon located in the upper left corner of the screen.
  • At the bottom, you should see the “Photo” and “DSCO” icons. Touch “DSCO”.
  • Time to record some images by pressing the DSCO shutter button.

  • The maximum length of the video is three seconds. If you want to create a shorter DSCO, just release the shutter button before the three seconds expire. You can check the length of your video at any time by looking at the edge of the shutter button as it lights up in the colors of the rainbow.
  • Once you’ve captured your DSCO, you can add a preset to it if you want. Choose one by sliding your finger left or right.
  • With this done, it is time to post your new DSCO on your VSCO profile. At the bottom of the screen, tap the arrow pointing up. This will automatically post your DSCO and save it to your Camera Roll on your iPhone.
