The beauty of an Apple Watch is that it does so many things: a fitness tracker, a stopwatch, a way to see notifications without taking out your phone, and, of course, displaying the time. You can customize watch faces and manage your collection from the Watch app on your iPhone or directly on your Apple Watch. If you’re not crazy about the current watch face on your Apple Watch, you can easily switch to the one you prefer. Additionally, many of the device’s built-in watch faces can also be customized to give them a different color or style and add specific features called complications.

Every new version of Apple’s watchOS introduces new faces. In 2021, watchOS 8 added World Time and Portraits for all supported watches, while Apple Watch Series 7 also got new Contour and Modular Duo watch faces. You can work with these watch faces and those from previous updates to make your watch feel more personal. One of the best things about an Apple Watch is how customizable it is. Any vintage watch lets you change the strap, but with an Apple Watch, even your face can match your mood, your outfit, or both. While changing your watch strap is a simple process, changing your watch face doesn’t seem that easy (at first glance). But don’t worry, it’s a piece of cake once you get the hang of it.
