How to Enable Cross-Platform Progression for Witcher 3

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been updated to version 4.0, which includes new graphics and armour. But the new cross-save feature is just as exciting. Cross-progression was added for Witcher 3 saves on PC when it was released on Nintendo Switch in 2019, but not for other platforms. The Witcher 3’s next-generation version will support cross-saving between the Playstation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. In this article we will try to teach you how to Enable Cross-Platform Progression for Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3’s long-awaited Next-Gen update is finally here, and fans are ready to take on the role of Geralt as he sets out to find his adopted ward, Ciri. The Wild Hunt was always praised for its immersive world and masterfully written narrative, but with the Patch 4.0 update, gamers have the chance to experience the game differently.

Witcher 3: How to Use Cross-Platform Progression

Before attempting to enable cross-save for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you must have an existing GOG account. You can only cross-save data from the same game version, so if you have the standard edition, cross-save may work if you have that version on a different platform.

From the main menu, look for the “Load” menu option, which requires the next-gen update to be installed before selecting the latest game save file. Likewise, you can create a new one by loading your previously saved file and saving it in the available slot.

Witcher 3 cross save from PC (Steam) to PS5

  • Open the game on both PC and PS5
  • On both, click on the “My Rewards” option in the main menu to log into your GOG account.
  • Open the load menu on PC and enable Cross Save (press C on the keyboard).
  • Load your last game save on the computer.
  • Create a new game. You will see the new save has a cross save cloud icon.
  • Go to the Load menu on PS5 and enable Cross Save (press L1) and you should see it there. I had to open another game on PS5 and then reopen Witcher 3 so it can sync cloud saves and display the new one I made on PC.
  • If you don’t see the loading menu on PS5, just start a new game and once you finish the cutscene with Yennefer you’ll have access to save/load.
