Make sure that the “Touchpad and Handwriting Panel Service” is running on your computer using the following steps:

  • Press the WIN + R keys together to launch the RUN dialog. Now type services.msc and hit Enter. It will open the Service Manager.
  • Now look for “Touch keyboard and handwriting panel service” in the given list.
  • Double click on the service and it will open its properties window. Now set “Startup Type” to “Automatic” in the drop down box and apply the changes.

Fix using Registry Editor

  • Press the “WIN + R” key combination to launch the RUN dialog, then type regedit and press Enter. It will open the Registry Editor.

  • In the right-side pane, right-click and select the option “New -> DWORD Value (32-bit)”. Set the name of the new DWORD to EnableExpressiveInputShellHotkey and set its value to 1.
