In the Elden Ring, you are looking for a means to go to the Divine Tower of East Altus. Large runes (opens in a new tab) are dropped by Shardbearer bosses, but are worthless unless activated. The Divine Tower of East Altus is located southeast of Leyndell, Royal Capital, and you have no doubt seen it from afar while exploring. This tower is also the only one that can summon the Great Runes of two different bosses at the same time.
How to open the Divine Tower of East Altus
To open the tower gate, players will need to go and defeat Morgott in the capital. Morgott is the true form of Margit, the first great chief of the Elden Ring. Upon defeating her, players will be rewarded with 120K Runes, Remembrance of the Omen King, and most importantly, the Great Rune of Morgott. Morgott’s Great Rune can be activated at the Divine Tower in East Altus. This tower is located near Leyndell, but can only be found by following a specific path. To activate the Great Rune, climb the tower and interact with the dead Two Fingers at their peak. Morgott’s Great Rune will not work if players equip it until they restore its power at the Divine Tower in East Altus. Once the players have it in their possession, the tower will open up for them. - From the Lost Grace Avenue balcony site, go up the nearby staircase that leads south.
- When the players reach the main avenue with the overturned carriages, turn left and head northeast. Follow the path until the players reach another area past a door.
- Head directly east up the large staircase on the left side.
- Keep going up the stairs and then follow the path to the south. However, once players see an archway to the left between two statues, they must enter it and ride the elevator up.
- Players will end up in the Capital Outskirts area, and must follow the path until they reach another elevator. Ignore the elevator and exit through the south door to end up on another bridge that leads to the Divine Tower of East Altus.
- Go to the top of the tower and interact with the glowing dot in the middle of the arena to restore Margott’s Rune.
