In addition to Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, G Suite offers other productivity apps like Google Forms and Google Sites. Google Drawings will soon feature improved Google Docs integration by allowing direct and up-to-date embedding. Currently, users must manually create a new drawing from the insert menu in Google Docs. A separate window opens where users can work on a Google Drawings file and insert it once editing is complete.

With the new integration, a new “From Drive” option appears below “Drawing” in the “Insert” menu, which opens a Drive file picker to choose an existing Drawings file. Once the drawing is embedded, it will be linked to that document and users will be able to update it when changes are made to the font. You can also unlink it to make further adjustments and edits that won’t be applied. This feature will roll out to the web in the coming weeks and will be available to all users by default.
