Pixlr is a cloud-based collection of image editing tools and utilities that includes many image editors as well as a photo sharing service. Although the suite was designed for non-professionals, the programs cover everything from basic to intermediate image editing.

How to use a green screen on Pixlr
- Go to Pixlr Editor
- Select Open image from computer.
- Choose one of the images to download for your background
- Go to “File” – “Open” – “Image” and open your background in Pixlr
- Save the image with a green screen background.
- Go to “File” -> “Open Image” and open the image in Pixlr.
- First, you need to “unlock” the background of the image.
- Then select the “Wand Tool” from your toolbar
- Click on the green area surrounding the image. Once selected, you will see a dashed line around your image.
As you select green areas, you can press delete to remove the green background. You should see a gray and white checkered pattern appear when the green is removed. This means that you are removing the background.
- Click and delete until no green remains (see images below).
Now you are ready to drag the image layer onto your first background image.
- Click on the image layer and drag it onto the background image.
Now you can go to “Edit” -> “Free Transform” to resize and rotate your image. Press “Return” when you have finished editing.

You can also “Duplicate” your layers to create more images! If you have time, give it a try! While it’s selected on your image layer, go to “Layer” -> “Duplicate Layer”
