The Studio Wireless headphones have a long battery life of over 30 hours, so you can jam for days. The Cloud Foam ear cups bring the comfort of Studio to you, and the adjustable and foldable hinges let you take them anywhere.

The on-ear style of the Studio ANC makes it something of a middle ground between over-ear headphones and in-ear wearables, resulting in a mix of pros and cons. At 141 grams, the Studio ANC are much lighter than many full-sized over-ear headphones. At the same time, they retain the design of their larger brethren, only further emphasizing the subtle aesthetic that has made in-ears so popular.

The Studio ANC feature what JLab calls “Cloud Foam” ear cups and an adjustable leatherette headband. At first glance, this combination is very comfortable. It may not be a big deal for most, but the headphones create more pressure than necessary, and that becomes a factor during longer listening sessions. The Studio ANC active noise cancellation is a no-frills feature. There is only one ANC level and no ambient noise mode. There’s a button to turn it on and off, and that’s it.

The ANC feature is effective, at least in the context of inexpensive headphones. If you turn on the ANC feature, you won’t have uninterrupted listening, but you can mitigate loud noises like lawn mowers or power tools to some degree. If you want more effective noise cancellation, you’ll have to pay for it. Otherwise, the Studio ANC is quite serviceable for its price in this range.

JLab isn’t the only company making extremely affordable ANC headphones. Anker makes a similarly priced pair with hybrid ANC, and companies like Cowin and TaoTronics are also in the market. We haven’t had a chance to test these other products yet.
