MSI Stealth 14 Studio: Design

MSI Stealth 14 Studio review

The MSI Stealth 14 Studio has a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis with a clean, angular cut and a white lid with the MSI dragon logo. The bottom of the unit is also white, and the Stealth 14’s interior is a semi-glossy black that really stands out when you open the lid, especially when you see the black Chiclet-style keys with white font and per-key RGB lighting.

Even though the deck looks a little tight, my big hands had no trouble typing on it. The large touchpad is a little off-center to the right, and when you look up at the 14-inch screen, you can see a hint of the white lid that holds the screen’s bezel in place, which gives it a really nice look. If you look at the top middle of the screen, you’ll see the built-in webcam and the physical shutter that you can use to keep prying eyes out.

On the back of the Stealth 14 Studio, where the hinges of the screen meet the chassis, there is a black cooling grill and cool RGB lighting that lets you know this is a Stealth 14.The Stealth 14 Studio is 12.4 inches long, 9.69 inches wide, and 0.75 inches thick. It weighs 3.8 pounds. The metal construction makes it feel lighter than that, and it fits nicely in my laptop bag. Getting to and from work didn’t feel like we was carrying a dead body.

MSI Stealth 14 Studio: Battery Life

MSI Stealth 14 Studio review

When a device like the Stealth 14 has powerful specs, the battery life tends to suffer. This is how most laptops with separate GPUs work these days. During our own battery test, which was continuous web browsing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits, the Stealth lasted 3 hours and 17 minutes, which is much less than the average mainstream laptop, which lasts 8 hours and 14 minutes.

The MBP 14 won this category with a time of 14:02. The Dell XPS came in second with a time of 8:58, which is a very good time. The difference between the XPS and the Stealth is in the displays. The MSI Stealth 14 Studio runs at 240Hz, while the Dell XPS 3.5K OLED display only runs at 60Hz, which can affect how long the battery lasts.

Final Words

The MSI Stealth 14 Studio is a popular mainstream laptop that can create content and push documents. It has powerful specs and a light, angular design. It does a great job with any task you give it and can easily switch between office work and home gaming battle stations.

The only thing keeping this great laptop from getting is its short battery life. The MacBook Pro 14’s strong points are its powerful performance and long battery life, but it can get very expensive depending on how it’s set up. Overall, the Stealth 14 Studio is a great laptop that we would recommend to creative people of all skill levels. Just make sure to keep it close to a power outlet.

FAQs

How color accurate is MSI Stealth?

The panel can show 99% of the sRGB color gamut, which is what you see every day on your screen when you browse the Web.

Is MSI laptop heavy?

On top of that screen is a 1080p webcam, which is always a good thing to have in a gaming laptop. This laptop is still pretty big, though. It weighs up to 5.95 pounds and is 28mm thick, so it’s not something you can easily take with you.
