Now Canon PIXMA TR4720 only in $69.99 at Best Buy

The Canon PIXMA TR4720 is an all-in-one colour printer that is quite portable and produces excellent-quality images with vivid, reasonably accurate-looking colours. The scanner includes a flatbed scanner, an automatic document feeder, and a built-in fax, all of which are respectable features. You may print, scan, and copy right from your phone by using the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app. Unfortunately, it has poor page yields, a high cost per print, and prints slowly, just like the majority of cheap printers.

The new Pixma is very similar to the previous one. For instance, both the new TR4720 and the previous TR4520 are 12.7 pounds and measure 7.5 by 17.7 by 11.7 inches (HWD). Although you may get even smaller and lighter inkjets like HP’s Tango X, this is relatively small and light compared to a number of competitors like the HP Envy 6455e, the Brother MFC-J805DW, and the Editors’ Choice Award-winning Epson Expression Premium XP-7100.

As previously indicated, a lot of AIOs in this price range are missing an automatic document feeder, which would allow users to copy or scan multipage documents without having to place each page on the scanning glass individually. The Pixma TR4720 has a 20-sheet ADF, same like the other printers described above with the exception of the Tango X. Your tablet or smartphone can scan using the Tango.

The Pixma doesn’t separate the four normal process colors cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, sometimes known as CMYK—into four ink cartridges, unlike a number of entry-level inkjets. It only has two ink tanks, a sizable one for black ink, and a tricolour cartridge for cyan, magenta, and yellow ink.

The two-tank technique could be more wasteful than printers with four or more ink cartridges because you’ll need to change the tricolour cartridge as soon as one of its colours runs out of ink, even if the other two colours still have plenty of ink. Only the Brother MFC-J805DW and Epson XP-7100 (five) of the AIOs previously mentioned are exempt from this flaw.

The Pixma TR4720 has a number of buttons for navigation, configuration, and starting copy and scan operations. It also has a number pad for entering fax numbers and a two-line monochrome LCD screen in place of a colour touch screen, which is a defect.

Of course, a convenient touch screen with the capacity to show visual representations of images and documents, as well as simple menus with coloured icons and programmable presets, will be useful for any photo printer. The TR4720’s control panel isn’t very attractive, exciting, or cool, but with a little practise it will work just fine for walk-up chores. However, you may find the Canon Print Inkjet/Selphy App on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet to be more practical.
