You should take your monitor more seriously, why? Because it’s the main component that shows your performance in color, sound and even power of your beloved PC. If you have a budget for a PC build, you may need to consider a monitor that costs less than 10 thousand pesos and the AOC 24B1XH is a choice for this segment.
The 24B1XH is a monitor that simply looks elegant with its triangular stand and frameless design. This makes it an ideal monitor for multiple side-by-side setups. With a thickness of only 14.3 mm, the monitor is quite handy compared to previous generations with a bulky stand. Even the back is thin, only the bottom part is thicker for mounting the stand and IO ports.
But we understand this move, because other manufacturers have also opted for a more portable monitor design than supplying a VESA mount. This is probably because a 24″ monitor is not really ideal for multiple monitor use and it is better to make it portable in the table.
The stand is attached with a single screw, which has its own twist handle that makes it easy to install and remove. The stand looks elegant, but you might think that it is very thin for its size, and that is exactly our problem. Throughout our test, even touching the controls triggered the stand to wobble.
There is a power supply that is integrated into the monitor. For us, this is better because it can withstand the heat better and reduces the weight of the monitor. Also, the separate adapter gives you more flexibility in organizing the monitor’s cables.
In FHD, the picture quality of the AOC 24B1XH is acceptable overall, colors are jumpy and the temperature is acceptable in the default setting. There is an option to increase the sharpness of details, especially in text, when necessary. The 24B1XH is an IPS panel monitor, and colors are jumpy but not very accurate. Again, this is an entry-level monitor. If you edit videos and photos professionally, you should invest in a more expensive monitor.
There are several presets for the monitor to play with if you want to calibrate your preferences. There is a movie preference, picture preference, user preference, and the default, let’s choose the preference and make the temperature a little cooler.
