There is a drop in price of Sony Sony Xperia 5 IV 128GB Smartphone on Amazon right now. The Phone is available for $798 on Amazon which is 20% less than its earlier price of $999.99. Sony did an excellent job with the power consumption of the phone. Except for the iPhone 14, the Xperia 5 IV outperforms all other devices in the comparison, particularly in terms of idle power usage.
Other manufacturers were able to make their phones run more efficiently under load, but the Sony phone consumes significantly less power under load than the OnePlus 10 Pro (which has the same SoC). The Xperia 5 is best described as a scaled-down version of the Xperia 1. The 5 IV is a sleek device that feels smooth and premium in the hand, with an aluminum frame sandwiched between a 6.1-inch display and a matte frosted glass back panel.
It has a more premium feel in the hand than the budget 10 IV, which is comparatively plastic-tastic. It’s also heavier, weighing 172g, but the frosted back panel makes it easy to hold. The phone retains the Xperia range’s renowned tall and thin build, with the 21:9 aspect ratio creating a narrow and lanky device that’s ideal for watching movies but can make everyday operations, such as swiping down the notifications panel from the top of the screen, a little awkward.
Sony hasn’t innovated in the smartphone design space in a long time. The way it insists on sticking to the same squared-off design, concentrating all of its considerable engineering expertise on the internal workings of its phones, has an almost Porsche-like purity to it. But, make no mistake, the Xperia 5 IV looks almost identical to the Xperia 5 III, especially in the familiar black of my test model. The Green and Ecru White colors will stand out more.
It is safe to say that the Xperia 5 IV can effectively manage resources under load. In the stress test, it outlasted the OnePlus 10 Pro by a long shot. In all other tests, however, the OnePlus outperforms the Xperia, despite the fact that both devices have identical battery capacities. The Xperia lasted significantly less time than the competition, particularly in the “Reader’s Test” and the Wi-Fi test. Leaving aside our tests, the phone has excellent battery life in everyday use. The Xperia 5 IV can easily last all day on a single charge. Two days of light use is also not ruled out.
