Save up to $30 on JBL Tune 130NC True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Earbuds at best buy

The JBL Tune 130NC TWS Truly Wireless are the next generation of the JBL Tune 125TWS Truly Wireless. They have a more comfortable and well-built design than their predecessor, and the 7.6-hour battery life should last for long days in the office. They also have a very neutral default sound profile suitable for a variety of genres, although you can adjust the sound to your liking using the parametric equalizer and presets in the companion app if you prefer.

However, while they feature active noise cancellation (ANC), they offer only good overall performance and may not be enough to block out the low rumble of bus and airplane engines. The JBL Tune 130NCs have an inconspicuous appearance, with the manufacturer’s logo on both earbuds in large, glossy lettering. They are also somewhat bulky and protrude from the ear like the oval-shaped JBL Tune 125TWS Truly Wireless and Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds Truly Wireless. They are available in three colors: “black,” “white,” and “blue.”

The JBL Tune 130NC have a comfortable fit. They are lightweight and do not go too deep into the ear. However, they are a little bulky and protrude a little from the ear. The JBL Tune 130NCs have adequate controls. There is a touch-sensitive surface on each earpiece that is easy to use and responsive. There are beeps to alert you when you have registered a control and a beep to alert you when you are pairing, as well as a choice of ANC on, “Ambient Sound Control” and ANC off. You can also remap the controls to add volume and voice assistant commands.

On the downside, while you can use one of the two earbuds at a time, you lose some access to the controls. These headphones come with a decent carrying case. The design is almost identical to that of the JBL TUNE 230NC TWS True Wireless, although the internal molding is designed to fit these specific earbuds. It is also made of plastic, but overall feels a bit cheap. Especially the lid looks flimsy compared to the body of the case. That said, it has magnets to hold the earbuds in place and LED lights to display the battery life of the case.

The JBL Tune 130NCs have decent stability. They come with three pairs of different sized earbuds to help you get the best possible fit. Although they should not move if you are sitting at a desk, they can fall out of your ears during intense physical activity. Out of the box, these headphones have a very neutral sound profile. They are suitable for a variety of audio content. However, if you prefer a different sound, the companion app offers a parametric equalizer and presets that allow you to adjust the sound to your liking.

The noise isolation performance of the JBL Tune 130NCs is good. The ANC does not perform significantly better than the passive isolation capabilities of the headphones, and overall, these headphones block less noise than the JBL Tour Pro+ TWS True Wireless. As a result, they struggle to isolate low noise from bus and airplane engines. Although they can reduce office chatter better, high-pitched noises such as the hum of an AC unit are more difficult for ANC to reduce.
