Learn how to easily display image dimensions in Mac OS X Finder, Windows, and desktop using the View Options. This feature is especially useful for Mac users who do a lot of image processing and editing.
Steps to Display Image Dimensions:
- Press Command + J or select Show View Settings from the View menu
- Select the checkbox for Show Product Information
- For universal application, click on Use as Defaults button otherwise, this setting will only apply to a specific folder.
Once done, you will immediately notice the dimensions of the image. To view the image dimensions below the file name, the files need to be visible in the “Icon” view of the Finder. Any other option, except Icon view, does not display the image dimension or file information under the file name. This limitation is only because of size limitations that may change in a future version of OS X. If you have enabled the Show Product Info option, you won’t see the resolution of the image below the image. You will likely need to switch back to the “Icon” view in Mac Finder to see it.
This feature is supported on all versions of OS X from previous presentations through Mavericks, so it will work on any Mac device you may use.
Benefits of Showing Image Dimensions:
- Free to read guide
- Helpful for users who process and edit a lot of images on Mac
- Easy to follow steps
