The Sony INZONE H7 is a mid-range gaming headset that sits between the entry-level H3 and the top-of-the-line INZONE H9. It is more comparable to the H9 in terms of feature set, design, and quality, and it’s a great option for PC and PS5. If it weren’t for the price, I’d be advising you to buy one right away because the comfort levels the headset provides are on par with the best gaming headsets on the market. As it happens, I’m prevented from doing so by a few strange problems.

The headset includes a USB-A dongle that supports Bluetooth connectivity and lets you connect wirelessly to your PS5 or PC. You can connect to both at once, enabling you to make calls or listen to content on a different device while playing games on your preferred platform.
Your primary means of controlling the Inzone H7 is a selection of buttons and dials spread across both earcups. While there isn’t a mute button, you can make sure no one can hear you rant about your team’s performance in a game by flipping up the crane mic, which is located on the left ear. Power and Bluetooth buttons, along with a pair of keys for adjusting your game-party chat mix, are located on the right earcup.

The audio from the 40mm drivers is smooth, clear, and well-balanced. The sound is well-balanced, with no one aspect of the sound being too overpowering in most cases. The low end isn’t quite as tight as I’d like, if I had one criticism. Though this only happened in extremely extreme situations, such as horror games, the low end could occasionally drown out more subtle aspects of the sound.
When listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash’s Helplessly Hoping, the vocals were clear and the available soundstage was large. This was especially useful in a few Sniper Elite V runs, where identifying enemies based on their speech is essential for making the most efficient use of a map. When using the H7s on a PC, Windows Sonic spatial audio is supported, increasing immersion. The PS5’s own Tempest Audio is also supported by them.
The Inzone H7 is no different from other high-end PC gaming headsets in that it requires some sort of software to be used in conjunction with it. It is reasonable to assume that the software would operate flawlessly given how great the headset is on its own. That was regrettably not the case.

Let’s get to the point quickly. The INZONE H7 headset has excellent audio. The mix is really well-balanced right out of the box, and the 40mm drivers are much more potent than I anticipated. Although the bass in the INZONE Hub software could use some improvement, details at higher and lower volumes are nice and consistent, and you never feel like you’re lacking any clarity in high or low pitches. All things considered, the sound quality of this headset is superb.
As a frequent player of Hunt: Showdown, a competitive multiplayer shooter with a strong audio focus, I can attest to the PC and PS5 versions’ excellent and precise sound mapping. You won’t encounter any problems because distant footsteps in-game have always accurately reflected movement in the right directions.
The Simultaneous Bluetooth feature of this headset is by far my favourite feature. Like the majority of today’s top wireless gaming headsets, the INZONE H7 uses a wireless signal, as I previously explained. It is incredibly useful that the INZONE H7 can Bluetooth connect to a different device, such as a phone, laptop, or tablet, while that connection is active. You can still take an urgent phone call or use your phone to watch a YouTube video without interfering with the audio of your games or teammate chats if you’re playing a multiplayer game that requires some time to matchmake or you’re in the middle of an unpauseable session with friends. I adore this function, and I have no doubt that it will eventually prevail in all gaming headsets. I am certain that it will be a requirement for the following gaming headset I purchase.

The battery life is also not bad, and the audio is clear and detailed with a particularly pleasing low end.
Of course, it has some growing pains, shaky companion software, and a subpar microphone. However, for a high-end gaming headset, it’s a commendable effort from Sony and, if you have the cash, one of the best models available for PC and PS5.
