Restart Windows 10 and Clean Boot Your Computer

  6. Next, click Startup then Open Task Manager
  7. In the Startup tab here, select each item, then Disable

  9. On the System Configuration, click Startup, then OK

Run Games in Borderless Windowed Mode

  1. Most modern video games run in a borderless window by default, but many older titles default to an exclusive full screen mode.
  2. Check the game’s settings to see if it’s set to full screen mode.
  3. Change to a borderless window if possible.
  4. Some games prevent the Game Bar from appearing when they are in full screen exclusive mode.

Disable Xbox Game Bar

  1. To open the Run box, press WIN+R.
  2. Type regedit and then hit OK.
  3. Next, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR. You can copy and paste this path into the address bar of the Registry Editor.
  4. Right-click AppCaptureEnabled and choose DWORD.
  5. Set the Value to 0 and then click OK. This will turn off the function.
  6. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore with your browser.
  7. Right-click on GameDVR_Enabled and choose DWORD.
  8. Change the number to 0 again.

Make Sure Windows Is Updated

  1. Game Bar is a Windows feature, so sometimes game compatibility and general stability is improved with a Windows update.
  2. If you haven’t updated Windows in a while, it’s worth checking if any updates are due.
  3. While you’re at it, update your GPU drivers and software as well, since these can interfere with Game Bar at times.

Adjust Game DVR settings

  1. Choose Settings from the left-hand menu, then click on Game DVR from the menu tabs above.
  2. You’ll now see something that says “Visit Windows Settings to change Game DVR settings.”
  3. When you click on it, the Settings app will open.
  4. Choose the Game bar and make sure you can record game clips and take screenshots.

  • The Game Bar is broken because of a problem with a system file. In some cases, the problem might be caused by a problem with a system file. If files, processes, or dependencies used by the Game Bar service become corrupted, the feature will no longer work.
