If you want the most coverage and best performance across a wide range of sports and activities, you don’t need to look any further. The Oakley Sutro Prizm did the best in all of our tests, which is easy to understand. These sunglasses were great for mountain biking, riding, running, and snowboarding. Because it was shaped like a big shield, covering and wind deflection were at their best even at high speeds. When you add the Prizm’s high-contrast lenses, you have a winning combination.

Only two people didn’t like the Sutro. Because of how big they were, they didn’t fit well under helmets with a smaller profile, and people with bigger heads said they were a little tight. For people with average-sized helmets and heads, the Sutro is a great deal for a pair of sunglasses that can do so much. Thus, it is one of the best sport sunglasses that you can buy.

Recommended UseCasual wear, outdoor activities
Price$58.00 USD

For a more feminine shape, the Sunski Dipseas is our best value for money. Every part of these glasses got a high score, except for the covering. They ran well, skied well, and laid out in the sun even better. The Dipseas are the lightest in our field at only 18 grams, and it shows. These glasses have metal hinges and frames that are very well made. Neither the way it looks nor how much it costs will make you feel heavy.

Coverage is a big problem with these glasses. Even though the round lenses are more stylish, they don’t cover as well. This frame also has a more feminine look, which could be a plus but could also make them less useful than almost all of our other mixed glasses. No matter what, the Dipseas are a great choice if you want style and efficiency on a budget. Overall, it is one of the best sport sunglasses that you can buy.

Price$29.99 USD

The KastKing Toccoa are by far the best sports sunglasses you can get for this price. We couldn’t believe how good the lenses and range were for something that was only 20 grams, very light, and very cheap. Even though these glasses were clearly not as good as the best ones in our range, we didn’t hesitate to climb, fish, and run with them. Currently, it is one of the best sport sunglasses that you can buy.

The biggest problem with these sunglasses is that the arms and nose don’t have any rubber on them. If you take these out on the water, you should use a pair of chums because they tend to slip when you move quickly. But the polarized glasses make it easy to see fish in water that is moving. Overall, these are great sunglasses to keep in your tackle box and not worry about if they get broken.

Price$206.00 USD

The Oakley Flak 2.0 XL is small but packs a big punch. Could be the best-fitting glasses in the line-up, and they can be used for a wide range of sports. The Oakley Prizm lens on these glasses is very sharp and fits your face perfectly. Not only are the lenses great, but so are the frames, which can bend and flex to fit any head shape and keep the glasses from breaking if you fall. Still, it is one of the best sport sunglasses that you can buy.

The only thing we don’t like about these glasses is how thick the arms are. Oakley added little wings to the arms, but we think they stick out a little too far. They do add a bit more friction, though, and even with the extra material, these only weigh 25 grams. Overall, the Flak 2.0 is a sporty pair of sunglasses that can be used for a variety of activities. It has quality parts and does a great job.

Ryders Eyewear Seventh Photochromic

Best Sport Sunglasses
SpecificationDescription
BrandRyders Eyewear
ModelSeventh Photochromic
Frame MaterialGrilamid TR90 material for flexibility and durability
Lens MaterialPhotochromic

The Ryders Eyewear Seventh Photochromic is a pair of sporty sunglasses that can change the amount of light they let in. It did well enough to make our list of award winners. The lenses are the most interesting part of these glasses. They go from low light in the morning to full sun in the middle of the day with ease and stay very sharp across the 26–75% light transfer range. The nose piece on the Seventh can be adjusted for more comfort, and at 30 grams, they are light enough to wear all day.

The quality of the semi-rim frame was just a notch below the best, and the fuzzy laser-etched name and bits of plastic left on the frame made a nice pair of glasses feel a bit cheap. Aside from these two small issues, these high-quality glasses are great for running and riding. Thus, it is one of the best sport sunglasses that you can buy.

FAQs

What are sport sunglasses?

Sport sunglasses are a special kind of headgear made for sports. They are made to protect against the sun’s harmful UV rays and reduce glare. They are also made to be durable and comfortable during physical activities. They are usually made of lightweight materials and may have wrap-around frames, polarized glasses and materials that can withstand knocks.

What should I look for when buying sport sunglasses?

When buying sport sunglasses, you should think about things like the lens material, lens color, frame material, frame size and shape, and any extras, like mirrored lenses or lenses that can be switched out. You should also think about what you’ll be doing and what kind of security and comfort you’ll need.

What is the difference between polarized and non-polarized lenses?

Polarized glasses are made to cut down on glare by letting less light through. They are especially helpful for things like driving, water sports, and snow sports. Non-polarized glasses don’t have this filtering effect and are often used for activities where glare is not a big deal.
