Ways to Fix Airpods Won’t Connect to iPhone

How to Fix Airpods Won't Connect to iPhone

Fix Airpods Won’t Connect to iPhone Via Restart Your Device

Next, restart your device if you’re still not sure why your AirPods won’t connect. Depending on how old your iPhone or iPad is, there are a few ways to do this. Press the volume up button on a modern iPhone, then press the volume down button right after. Then press the button on the side. To turn off the iPhone, swipe across the screen.

Press the side button again to start over. As soon as you see the Apple logo, the computer is starting up. The steps are the same for an iPad that doesn’t have a home button. Once you’ve turned the device back on, it’s time to see if the AirPods can connect again so you can get back to rocking out.

Clean Your AirPods

Dirt, grime, and other nasty things can build up on the AirPods and even on the case that charges them. If you can’t get your earbuds to connect to your device, you might need to clean everything. Even a small amount of dirt or dust could be causing charging problems or other problems.

A soft microfiber cloth can be used to clean the earbuds. The charging case can also be cleaned with the same kind of cloth. You can use a damp cloth, but be careful not to get any liquid in the charging port of the case or any of the AirPods’ openings. Try again to connect once everything is clean, dry, and fully charged.

Check Your Bluetooth

  • Your AirPods won’t work if your Bluetooth isn’t turned on. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > Bluetooth to check. If it isn’t on, press the button (it will switch from grey to green).

Check The Charging

On AirPods case

Put your AirPods in their case and open the lid to make sure they have enough power. If you see a small green light, they are fully charged. A yellow light means that they aren’t.

Via iPhone, iPad

  • Go to Control Center > Bluetooth to make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  • Put your AirPods in their case, then hold the case close to your device and open the lid.
  • Wait a moment, and a pop-up window will show you how charged the AirPods and their case are.

Using battery widget

  • Swipe right on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to get to the widgets.
  • Scroll down and tap Edit. Then, to add a new one, tap the plus sign in the top left corner of the screen.
  • Tap Batteries in the list of widgets, and then choose the widget’s size.
  • Put the widget where you want it, then tap Done.ds.

Reset and Re-Pair AirPods With Device

If the problems keep happening, it’s time to take stronger steps. When you do a factory reset, the AirPods will forget everything you’ve done with them since you first used them. To start, put the AirPods in the case that charges them and close the lid. Just wait another 30 seconds.

Then you need to open the charging case’s lid and leave it open. Next, go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad. Find the name of your AirPods and tap the “I” button next to it to get more information.

Choose “Forget This Device” and confirm the command. Press the setup button on the back of your AirPods case for about 15 seconds with the lid open. You have to wait until the status light flashes amber and then white.

Now that the AirPods have been reset to factory settings, you can try pairing them with your device. Open the lid and put them near an iPhone or iPad. If it works, a window will appear on the screen. Follow these steps to add the AirPods to your iCloud account and connect them.

Check For Updates

  • Make a copy of your device.
  • Connect both power and Wi-Fi to your device.
  • Tap Settings, then General, then Software Update.
  • If you see an update (or two), tap Install Now next to the one you want to install. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, and then tap Install Now.

Why is my iPhone not detecting my AirPods?

Put both AirPods in the case that charges them, and make sure they are both charging. Go to Settings > Bluetooth to make sure that Bluetooth is on. Make sure that your AirPods are chosen as your audio device if they are connected.

Why are my AirPods not pairing with my Mac?

If your AirPods won’t connect to your Mac, it could be because they don’t work with macOS. If you have the first generation of AirPods, make sure your Mac has macOS Sierra or a later version.
