Alternatively, if you are using Windows 10 Home or do not have access to the Group Policy Editor, you can change the registry to disable the option to stop updates in May 2019 with these updates:

Step 1: Open Windows 10 Registry Editor

Step 2: Browse the following path:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsWindowsUpdateQuick

Step 3: Right-click the WindowsUpdate (folder) key, select New, and click on DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Step 4: Name the key SetDisablePauseUXAccess and press Enter.

Step 5: Double-click the newly created DWORD and set the value from 0 to 1.

Step 6: Click OK.

Step 7: Restart your computer.
