Check Audio Settings

  1. Open OBS on your computer, click File and select Settings in the drop-down menu.
  2. In the left menu, click the Audio section. In the right interface, tap Channels to set it as Stereo option.
  3. Under the Desktop Audio Device tab, select the device you want OBS to use from the drop-down menu. The same is for Microphone/Auxiliary Audio Device menu if required.
  4. Apply all the changes made and restart OBS to check if the OBS not recording desktop audio issue works out. If not, try the next solution.

Lower Frame Rate

  1. Choose Settings in OBS.
  2. Click Video in the left panel.
  3. Choose Common FPS Values and unfold its list.
  4. Select 30 or even lower as OBS video resolution.

Free Up Space in Drive

  1. Launch “File Explorer”.
  2. Right-click on the drive that requires cleaning and selects “Properties”.

Restart OBS Studio

  6. Navigate to the location where you have installed the OBS Studio.
  7. Select the obs-ffmpeg-mux executable file and click Open
  8. Click Add.
  9. Check both the Private and Public boxes for obs-ffmpeg-mux and click OK to save the settings.

Check the Recording Type

  1. Launch OBS Studio and click on Settings.
  2. Click on Output and move to the Recording tab.
  3. Expand the Type menu and select the type that‚Äôs different from the previous one.
  4. Click Apply and OK. Restart OBS and try recording again.

Configure the Encoding Settings

  1. Click the File button on the OBS interface.
  2. Click the Output button on the left side of the screen. Put 3500 in the box and set Bitrate to 128.
  3. Next, uncheck the Use CBR box and click OK to put all the changes into effect.
  4. Close all the interfaces and restart OBS to see if this will fix the problem of OBS not capturing audio.
