Fix: Redfall Crashing on PC and Xbox

The latest first-person shooter game is Redfall, which was made by Arkane Studios Austin and released by Bethesda Softworks. The game will be available for Windows and the Xbox Series X/S. But it has been said more than once that Fix Redfall Crashing when it starts up.

Verify Game Files

Update Your Windows

  1. Type “Update” into Windows Search and click on Check for Updates.
  2. This will take you to the Windows Update section, where you can make sure you have the latest version.

Disable Background Programs

  1. To open the Task Manager, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  2. Go to the Processes tab or, on Windows 10, the Details tab.
  3. Look for any non-essential programs, like web browsers or third-party utilities, that are running in the background.
  4. Click on each app that isn’t essential and click the End Task or End Process button to shut it down. Make sure you don’t shut down any important system processes.
  5. Quit Task Manager and start Redfall.

Check for overheating

  1. Watch the temperature of your PC while playing Redfall.
  2. Check to see if the cooling system on your PC is working right.
  3. Dust should be cleaned off of the fans and heatsinks.
  4. Think about using software to keep track of and control temperatures.

Verify Game Files

  1. Launch the Xbox App
  2. On the left, under INSTALLED, click on Redfall
  3. Click on the button with three dots
  4. Select Manage
  5. Select the FILES tab, and then click on VERIFY AND REPAIR under Options

Clear cache

  1. Use your Xbox to get to the Settings menu.
  2. Find the option for System.
  3. From the menu, choose Storage.
  4. Choose a way to store your data.
  5. Click the “Clear local saved games” button.

Disable Xbox Game Bar, Discord, Steam, and NVIDIA Overlays

  1. Xbox Game Bar: Go to Start > Settings > Gaming > Xbox Game Bar and toggle off the switch for “Enable Xbox Game Bar…”
  2. Discord Overlay: Open Discord, go to User Settings > Game Overlay, and disable “Enable in-game overlay.”
  3. Steam Overlay: Open Steam, click on Steam > Settings > In-Game, and uncheck “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.”
  4. NVIDIA Overlay: Open NVIDIA GeForce Experience, click on the gear icon for Settings, then go to the General tab and turn off “In-Game Overlay.”
