What Is a Profile Picture?

When someone interacts with a social media user on the platform, they can quickly see that person’s profile picture. Depending on the platform, a profile picture may show up as an avatar next to the account name in posts, mentions, and comments. Your public profile picture provides more information about you.

People on social media associate their profile pictures with certain images, so it’s important for businesses to choose the right one. For example, a company’s profile picture needs to have a logo that best shows what the company is all about.

Why my Facebook profile picture is not showing to others?

Make sure you have the most recent version of the Facebook app or restart the app. Check to see if you’re connected to a data or Wi-Fi network that you can trust. Try again after you reload the page.

What’s the difference between a profile picture and a cover photo?

The larger photo at the top of your profile, above your profile picture, is your cover photo. Cover photos are public, just like your profile picture, so anyone who visits your profile can see them.

What should a profile picture look like?

The picture should be about your face. Busy backgrounds can take the attention away from you, which isn’t the best thing. The best thing to do is to use a simple or flat background colour. You can also use different colours in the background without changing your clothes.
