Deal on Bose Smart Soundbar 900: save $150 and get it for $749.00

The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is a high-end, stand-alone 5.0.2 setup. Unlike its predecessor, the Bose Smart Soundbar 700, it can play Dolby Atmos content, which is often found on different streaming platforms. It uses the manufacturer’s Phase Guide technology to send sound all over the room to create a wide, immersive soundstage.

For an even more immersive experience, you can add a separate subwoofer and satellites as the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 with Speakers + Bass Module. As with most high-end bars, there is also a room correction feature called ADAPTiQ that adjusts the sound to your room’s unique acoustics. The name and price of the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 tell you everything you need to know about it.

  • Slim and sleek design
  • Automatic room correction
  • Alexa and Google Assistant built in
  • Dolby Atmos support
  • Good overall levels of sound for movies

The bar has 9 drivers: two tweeters, four racetrack transducers, a centre tweeter, and two dipole (up-firing) transducers for Dolby Atmos. For Atmos content, the company uses its own PhaseGuide, which it says gives better audio positioning than other soundbars. The soundbar comes in either black or white, and it has a metal grill on the front and sides and a glass top. The unit has very few decorations.

On the front, it has the Bose logo and two touch-sensitive buttons. One turns on the voice assistant, and the other mutes the microphone. You have to look pretty hard to find the buttons (they are on the top left), because they are so small. Just below the buttons, there is also a thin LED light. Depending on what you’re doing with it, it glows in different colours and patterns.

The Bose has both Wi-Fi (Spotify Connect and Apple AirPlay 2) and two-way Bluetooth streaming, as well as HDMI eARC connectivity. Sonos doesn’t have Bluetooth, but we like that you can connect a pair of Bose’s wireless headphones to it. The 900 can be controlled by voice commands or through the Music app, just like the cheaper 700. For a $900 soundbar, it would have been great if Bose had a couple more HDMI inputs, like the competing Vizio Elevate.

The Soundbar 900 comes in black or white and is 2.3 inches high, 4 inches wide, and 41 inches long. The company says that the ‘bar works well with TVs that are 50 inches or larger. The unit’s top is made of tempered glass, which gives it a sophisticated look and hides the Dolby drivers that fire up. There are only two controls on board: a switch to turn on or off the microphone and a button to activate the assistant, play, or pause.

How to get Bose Smart Soundbar 900?

You can choose to make the soundbar bigger by connecting it to other devices, such as the Bose Surround Speakers and the Bass Module 500 and 700. Note that even though the 900 has a 3.5mm “bass” output, this is only for physically connecting Bose models. The soundbar doesn’t work with third-party subs.
