Deal: Save $50 on JBL Boombox 3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker, now available for just $449.95

The JBL Boombox 3 can play music well. It has a sound profile that is pretty balanced and can be used to listen to a wide range of audio content. Its balanced mid-range makes sure that vocals and lead instruments sound clean and clear in the mix. However, voices with higher pitches and sibilants like S and T can sometimes sound a bit harsh. There is also some warmth in the bass, which gives the mix more boom.

With the graphic EQ in its companion app, you can change how it sounds to suit your tastes. It’s also pretty loud and doesn’t distort much at full volume, so you can blast your favourite music without losing the quality of the sound. The JBL Boombox 3 is a big Bluetooth speaker that you can carry around with you. It has a handle on top. It weighs 6.7kg, which is quite a lot. You can get the speaker in either black or camouflage.

  • Enjoyable bassy sound
  • In-app EQ
  • Gets loud with little compression at max volume
  • IP67 resistance

The Boombox 3, like most JBL speakers these days, has an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. This means that it can be submerged for 30 minutes in one metre of water and is completely dust proof. So, you can easily take the speaker to the beach or park, and if it gets dirty, you can just rinse it off. You can get the Boombox 3 in either black or camouflage.

It’s about 10.1 inches tall, 19.0 inches wide, and 7.9 inches deep, and it weighs a hefty 14.7 pounds. The speaker is portable in the sense that you can carry it from one place to another, put it in the trunk, or take it to the beach, but you won’t want to carry it around in a tote for hours. The sound from the JBL Boombox 3 is great, and it gets very loud.

If you turn it up loud, the sound doesn’t get bad, so it’s a good choice if you need a louder speaker for parties. It has a lot of bass, which might be good or bad, depending on your taste. If you don’t like it, you can use the equalizer in the JBL Portable app to turn it down.

How to get JBL Boombox 3?

But if you don’t want to mess with your devices’ EQ settings, don’t worry the bass isn’t too loud by default, and the speaker sounds pretty good. It’s not surprising that the Boombox 3 uses a lot of power and needs to be plugged into the wall to charge the battery and run at full power. Still, it takes a whopping 6.5 hours to charge a battery from empty to full. Music can be played through Bluetooth 5.3 or the 3.5 mm analogue jack. The Boombox 3 has a USB port that can be used to charge other devices.
