A crowd of fans – from every nook and cranny of the city and NCR – waited for hours to spot megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who stormed into a scene on a South Delhi market with his wife on Friday. Jaya and her daughter Shweta Bachchan.
The Bachchan family, less Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, was in Delhi for the launch of a Kalyan Jewelers showroom in the South Extension market.
A scene was set up facing the main road, where people came out in large numbers to watch Shahenshah from Bollywood and hear him say a few words. Be it Noida, Gurugram or even Saharanpur, people have traveled from various places to make the most of luck.

Overwhelmed by fan participation, Big B told the crowd, "I thank everyone for coming here. You have all come out in large numbers. I consider Delhi to be my home and you are all members of my family.
His words drew applause and applause from members of the public, some of whom waited a long time, braving the heat. The announcement of the event was made through newspaper ads and radio ads.
The 75-year-old film icon, who has a residence in Delhi called Sopaan, wore a black pathani suit with a navy blue bandhgala, while Jaya looked stylish in a traditional Kasavu sari. Their daughter Shweta participated in the fashion game in a bright yellow sari associated with traditional polki jewelry.
