The “iPhone 13 ”could have an always-on display, it is rumored, that could potentially light up parts for a short time to show notifications to the user, without lighting up the entire screen.
The 2021 iPhone Rumor has it that the update will already include some big changes in its display technology. However, one of the features could be the always-on feature that was introduced in the Apple Watch Series 6.
According to Max Weinbach via EverythingApplePro, the “iPhone 13 ”can use a permanent display. For users, this will mean that the lock screen will still display some important items, but not necessarily fully illuminate in the same way as current models.
The clock and battery icons will apparently still be visible on the screen, even if the screen is locked, and will do so regardless of the lit state of the rest of the screen.
Notifications are displayed on the lock screen “using a bar and icons”, with normal appearance on the screen, although the entire screen will not turn on. “Instead, it will display it as you are used to right now, except down and only temporarily,” Weinbach said.
