A price north of $ 500,000 for a house in McComb carries high expectations, and what you get for the money in some markets isn’t even close to what Southwest Mississippi has to offer.

The New York Times recently compared ads in this price range in three cities in America – McComb, Madison, Wisconsin and Gloucester, Mass.

The listing in McComb had the lowest price, the most square feet, and the most land – 41 acres – while the rest sat on lots under an acre.
