On January 5, the County Board, along with EDC’s Finance Committee and Joint Operations Board on January 7, all approved the new program, which opened on Friday January 8.
“It is a blessing for many businesses and we are fortunate that Kandiyohi County is so active,” said Willmar city councilor Julie Asmus, who is also a council representative at EDC on Thursday.
The county received $ 831,645 from the state to be turned into grants for qualifying businesses that suffered financial losses during the pandemic. Following in the footsteps of the highly successful CARES Act Pandemic Relief Grant Program, where EDC and the county approved and distributed over $ 3 million in grants to county businesses, the county and EDC have once again partnered for the new Minnesota Pandemic Relief Grant Program. .
