Assassin’s Creed Unity is a game that pushed PS4 and Xbox One to their limits. The game came out in 2014 and showcased some of the best graphics, especially on PC. And today, after seven whole years, the game remains a graphically impressive game on PC in 8K and with Reshade Ray Tracing.
Now the YouTuber has cleverly hidden the game’s LOD issues. In case you aren’t aware of, the game changes the LOD models of its NPCs right in front of view. Moreover, its distant textures look blurry due to their low LOD values. There was a LOD fix mod for it, but apparently, it works best when taking screenshots (and not while gaming).
YouTube’s ‘Beyond The Hype’ has shared the following video with a Ray Tracing Realistic Reshade Mod and in 8K. The end result is truly amazing and makes Unity look just as good as most modern-day games.
Apart from these issues, though, Assassin’s Creed Unity looks awesome. Its pre-baked lighting is one of the best I’ve seen, and its Global Illumination solution was incredible. Ironically, the series has never been able to match these visuals once it started using a fully dynamic lighting system. Yes, we got a more dynamic lighting/weather system but the visual presentation took a big hit with this decision. Hell, the following video is more next-gen-ish than Valhalla itself.
