The California Assembly Health Committee on Tuesday held a hearing ofinformation on Health Information Exchange (HIE) Priorities in California. This is the second hearing on this topic, the first focused on the current HIE landscape in California.

According to documents frominformation, as of 2019 Regional Health information organizations (HIOs) touch approximately 22 million lives in the state, but only half of California’s hospitals participate. Twenty-three of California’s 58 counties do not have a regional HIO presence.
