    President Joe Biden arrived in Detroit to show support for the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike against General Motors and Stellantis. Despite not being worried about getting the UAW endorsement, Biden joined the picket line and expanded the strike. Fain, the UAW president, has kept the White House at arm’s length during negotiations. Stellantis has matched Biden’s call for a record contract, while Ford prefers to find solutions with the UAW at the bargaining table.
