In a video posted on Twitter, Biden said, “Unions put power in the hands of workers. They level the playing field. They give you a strong voice, for your health, your safety, higher wages, protections against racial discrimination and sexual harassment. Unions elevate workers.
“I made it clear when I was in charge that my administration’s policy would be to support union organizing and the right to bargain collectively,” Biden added. “I keep this promise.”
The president warned that there should be “no intimidation, no coercion, no threat, no anti-union propaganda” during the union elections.
“Let me be clear: it’s not for me to decide whether someone should join a union. But let me be the same more clear: it is not for the employer to decide that either. The choice to join a union is up to the workers – period, ”Biden said.
