The Chandigarh Police has summoned actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan and six others following a complaint of cheating by a local businessman. Besides the actor and his sister, the CEO of Being Human Foundation and officials of Style Quotient (licensee of Being Human Jewellery) were among those called for an investigation on July 13 to verify the facts of the complaint, police said on Thursday. . Local businessman Arun Gupta has complained that he had opened an exclusive store under the brand ‘Being Human Jewellery’ in 2018 by spending Rs 2 to 3 crores. Gupta said that he was assured that they would provide all kinds of backup as well as promote the brand. According to his complaint, neither the promotion promises were fulfilled nor the goods were delivered to his store. Gupta said that he was assured that actor Salman Khan would promote the brand but nothing happened. He said he had repeatedly contacted the company officials but they refused to keep their promise. The complainant claimed that the office which was supposed to be used for stock collection is also lying closed since February 2020. Gupta further stated in his complaint that he was assured that Salman Khan himself would come for the inauguration of the showroom. But his brother-in-law Ayush Sharma came, he said.
Gupta demanded registration of an FIR in the matter.
