Actor Dilip Kumar, popularly known as ‘Tragedy King’, was cremated with state honors on Wednesday evening. Many politicians including PM Narendra Modi and Bollywood celebs have mourned the death of the veteran. Also, in recognition of his immense work and remarkable contribution to Indian cinema, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray made special arrangements for the last rites of the late actor. Tricolour-coated Dilip Kumar’s body was buried at Juhu Cemetery in Bollywood Mumbai. He also received a cannon salute at his funeral. Now, Dilip sahib’s wife Saira Banu has thanked the Prime Minister for calling her early in the morning and expressing her condolences. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek Bachchan and director-producer Subhash Ghai were present at the funeral to pay homage to Dilip Kumar, who passed away today after prolonged health complications. Also, in the afternoon, several Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar reached Dilip Kumar’s residence to offer condolences to the family members of the late actor, especially his wife Saira Banu.
