In 2002, film director Sanjay Gupta is the remake of Hindi Quentin Tarantino Reservoir Dogs title Kaante. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty and Mahesh Manjrekar among several others.

Recently, in an interview, the director was asked if he will be doing a spin-off of Kaante even if the six protagonists shoot each other at the end of the film. Talking to a tabloid, the director revealed that he has another script with the spirit of Kaante. He said that is about six Indians who pull the ultimate heist, and he will be calling Khote Sikkey.

In December 2019, Sanjay Gupta had announced that his company White Feather Films has acquired the rights of Rakshak, an exciting graphic novel about a vigilante super-hero. He also said that it is India’s first graphic novel to make it a huge and ambitious feature film which will be directed by him.

Currently, Sanjay Gupta is shooting his next directorial titled Mumbai Saga with John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi. Mumbai Sagawith the 1980’s and 90’s, as the backdrop, is said to revolve around the underworld, mill owners, and the police of the time. The film stars Jackie Shroff, Mahesh Manjrekar and Suniel Shetty.
