Late legendary actors Raj Kumar and Nana Patekar starred together in a film titled ‘Tiranga’ helmed by Mehul Kumar. However, the filmmaker found it difficult to get the two to work together. Talking about the same in an interview, director Mehul Kumar said that Nana had not directly asked for the film when he was approached for the role. Nana told Mehul that he does not do “commercial films” and declined the offer. However, the director followed her and after reading the script, Nana gave her nod for the film. But before saying yes to the role, the actor put a condition that if late actor Raj Kumar (who co-starred Nana in the film) intervened, he would leave the set immediately. Mehul gave his word that the ‘Bulundi’ actor would not interfere in the process of the film. On the other hand, when Mehul told Raj Kumar that Nana would be his co-star in the film, he asked the director why he signed Patekar. Kumar said that he has heard that Nana is very rude and abusive on the sets. However, Mehul also said that there was no tension on the sets during the shoot as Raj Kumar and Nana Patekar never spoke to each other when they were in front of each other. At the end of the interview, Mehul revealed that after shooting for a song in the film, the two got along with each other.
