Taapsee Pannu and her sister Shagun are currently holidaying in Russia before the actress can delve deeper into her work. During the last two months, Taapsee’s parents, Dilmohan Singh and Nirmaljit Pannu were living with their sister and her in Bollywood Mumbai before they went on their leave. Taapsee believes that this is one of the longest spells her father spent with her in Bollywood Mumbai in the last decade. Talking about this, Taapsee says, “The second round of lockdown caught me unconscious, much like the last time it happened. Of course, someone thought that we experienced things in the past, and therefore, we may have a quick way out of it. But the days turned into weeks and months. At its peak, the situation in the second wave was so disastrous. This time, unlike last time, it affected me mentally in a big way. This time the magnitude of the damage was much greater. Each of us, including me, has lost someone in close quarters or the other. Rashmi Rocket editor passed away. A friend’s grandparent passed away and the list just got longer. It impressed me a lot; All this terrified me so much that I forced my parents to live with me in Bollywood Mumbai. I was insecure about letting him stay in Delhi this time. I woke up almost every other day to so much bad news that I didn’t want them to stay away from me. The actress believes that apart from her mother, her father has been one of the strongest reasons for her growth as a person. Bring on Father’s Day and ask him about his father’s impact on him, and Taapsee says, “My father is the backbone of my growth. We all need a man who has our back at all times. In my case, it’s my father. My father has taught me to manage my finances well. He has made sure that I do the right thing with the money I earn. He has made that room for me so that I can have my own safety net. Papa hasn’t spent much time with me in the last decade because I’ve been away from home. He and I have been at home together in Bollywood Mumbai for the longest time in the past few weeks. I think more than me he needed a break from watching my sister and me roam around. We really have Father’s Month! It was great to have Papa at home with us.”
