BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A big step forward for CityPlace. On Tuesday evening, Burlington City Council unanimously approved a settlement agreement between the city and the developer.
So what does this mean for the surrounding businesses?
The folks in the Queen City hospitality industry tell me they’re excited to see construction start after years of staring at a hole in the ground.
“This is definitely the hot topic of conversation,” said Christina DeMag, owner of Jubilance Lounge.
The living room is right across from the CityPlace hole. DeMag says he hasn’t helped with the business.
“You have the hole and then you have the COVID going on – I think it keeps people from wanting to come downtown,” she said.
